Terms of service
Effective July 29, 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Lumiward. They cover your use of the Lumiward applications, the Lumiward service, and the website at lumiward.com (together, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Lumiward is an end-to-end-encrypted password manager for individuals and households. Your vault contents are encrypted on your own devices with keys derived from credentials only you hold; Lumiward’s servers store and relay ciphertext they cannot decrypt.
3. Your account and your keys
You are responsible for the credentials that protect your vault, including your master password and secret key, and for any recovery methods you choose to set up. Because the service is end-to-end encrypted, Lumiward cannot read, reset, or recover your vault contents for you: if you lose your credentials and every recovery method you configured, your encrypted data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
4. Subscriptions and trials
Paid Lumiward plans are sold as recurring subscriptions and billed in advance for each billing period. The Household plan includes one free trial per account: 14 days, no card required. You can cancel at any time; cancellation and refunds are governed by the refund & cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Digital goods
Lumiward sells digital subscription software. No physical goods are sold or shipped.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use the service only as permitted by law. You must not attempt to disrupt the service, probe or overload its infrastructure outside the published responsible-disclosure process, resell access to it, or use it to store or distribute material whose storage or distribution is unlawful.
7. Intellectual property
Lumiward and its licensors retain all rights in the service and its software. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the applications for as long as you have an account in good standing. Your vault contents remain yours; these terms give Lumiward no rights over them beyond storing and relaying the encrypted data needed to provide the service.
8. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumiward will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data that results from losing the credentials and recovery methods only you hold. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.
10. Changes to the service or these terms
We may update the service and these terms over time. If we make a material change to these terms, we will post the updated terms on this page with a new effective date and, where the change affects paid subscriptions, give you notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may request account closure by emailing support@lumiward.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms. On termination, your subscription ends per the refund & cancellation policy.
